DEL & ŠKODA AUTO: Collaborative Research on AI and Autonomous Vehicles
DEL and ŠKODA AUTO have collaborated on multiple research projects on advanced technologies and their ethical implications. In past years, we have addressed several critical topics, including the relationship between AI and ethics, Technological Adoption Models (TAM), and the collection and analysis of data from autonomous vehicles (AV). Through this collaboration, we have explored how data collected from AVs can be effectively processed with AI and applied in new ways, contributing to enhanced user safety and comfort.
The current project we presented at the KPMG Data Festival focuses on the factors influencing AI adoption in autonomous vehicles. In this research, we developed an AI Value Adoption Model (AI-VAM), incorporating essential elements such as trust in automation, AI transparency, human autonomy, and compatibility with user values. Our findings highlight the critical role of transparency and trust in users’ willingness to embrace autonomous technologies.
We thank ŠKODA AUTO for their longstanding support, enabling us to engage in impactful research with direct applications for modern technology. We look forward to continued collaboration, bringing valuable insights to the responsible development of AI in the automotive industry and beyond.
