DEL Delivered AI Ethics and Security Course for Academic Staff

At the request of the University of Economics in Prague, the Prague Data Ethics Lab (DEL) developed and delivered the course “Using AI: Ethics and Security,” focusing on the ethical and safety challenges associated with artificial intelligence (AI). The course was designed primarily for academics and researchers, equipping them with essential insights and skills for the responsible use of AI in their work.

The course provided an overview of the fundamental principles of AI ethics, including definitions and current dilemmas such as biases, transparency, and accountability. Participants explored real-world examples of ethical challenges, including algorithmic bias and privacy concerns. The security segment addressed cybersecurity risks, handling sensitive data, and strategies for mitigating these threats.

Additionally, the course covered the legal landscape, with a focus on EU directives related to AI and copyright issues. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge to deploy AI ethically and securely in both academic and business contexts.

We are proud to have contributed to fostering responsible AI practices at our university and thank the University of Economics in Prague for trusting us with this important program.
